I was born in Manhattan New York City, and grew up in

Work history in the private sector:
I put myself through college working as a laboratory technician in various industries.
After a short military tour, I returned to work in the chemistry field and finished up
my college education. I wanted to be a development chemist and got a job working
in the cosmetic industry.
I started out in detergents because of my past experience as a Lab Tech and start to
learn all of the cosmetic formulations. I worked on creams and lotions, hair coloring,
hair waving and straightening, co-dispensing valves, lipsticks, pressed powders, and
other miscellaneous formulations.
I worked my way up to Assistant Director of R & D and then Director of Quality
Assurance /
Quality Control for the Revlon plant in
of the Professional Products Division.
Work history in the public sector:
When Revlon was taken over and many people were laid off, I got a job working for
the State of
supervisor for foster care, then contract manager for Economic Services, and finally
contract manager for Alcohol, Drug Abuse and Mental Health Program office.
I retired in October 2003.
